Scripts or behaviors are not updated with a new layer ID when you change the layer ID in Expression Web, SharePoint Designer 2007, or FrontPage 2003
When you change the layer ID of any layer by using the task pane
of the layer, any scripts or Behaviors that call that layer are not updated
with the new layer ID. As a result, the scripts or Behaviors may not function
correctly in the following programs:
- Microsoft Expression Web
- Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer 2007
- Microsoft Office FrontPage
2003
This problem occurs because changes to layers in Expression Web, SharePoint Designer 2007, or FrontPage
2003 are coded as manual changes. Therefore, these programs do not parse the
Web page code for any scripts that are attached to the Web page.
To work around this problem, follow these steps:
- On the Edit menu, click
Replace.
- In the Find what: area, type the previous
layer ID.
- In the Replace with area, type the new
layer ID.
- Click Close.
- Save the Web page.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Office Standard Edition 2003
- Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer 2007
- Microsoft Expression Web
- Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003
Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
