You receive a cannot deserialize the Web Part error message when you view the SharePoint Services home page
When you view the home page of a Microsoft Windows
SharePoint Services site, you may receive one of the following error messages:
Web Part Error: Cannot deserialize (convert an XML stream
back into an object) the Web Part on the server.
Web Part Error: One of the properties of the Web Part has
an incorrect format. Windows SharePoint Services cannot deserialize the Web
Part. Check the format of the properties and try again.
This issue may occur when permissions that Windows
SharePoint Services configured on the Windows Temp directory were
unintentionally reset , possibly when you upgraded your operating
system.
To resolve this issue, make sure that the following
permissions are configured correctly:

For a detailed explanation of the minimum file permission
settings that must be in place for Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services to

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
