This is classic - just keep clicking "No". Great workaround from MS....

I have this problem with Outlook as well. In fact, if I tell it that I want to install the Speech Recognition files, it tells me that it can't because another install is already in progress. I have found no solution yet. It doesn't happen consistently.

MS Outlook was running fine, until I installed Unreal Tournament - Now when coming out of screen saver mode, I get the, "Microsoft Outlook can't load speech recognition files. This feature is not currently installed. Would you like to install it now?" Clicking "Yes" tells me that another install is already in progress, much like the previous Anonymous user. Any ideas? Is it just a fluke (or a haddock?) that UT 2004 was installed before Outlook went haywire?

This worked for me. In Control Panel, go to Add or Remove Programs. Select your Microsoft Office installation and click Change. Select Add or Remove Features and click Next. In Office Shared Features -> Alternative User Input, click the drop-down menu for Speech and select Not Available. Then click Update.

I had this problem in MS project a few years ago, and again just now in Frontpage. Solution which worked for me was to turn off speech recognition... - Control Centre - click Regional and Language Options. - On the Languages tab click the Details... button. The "Text Services and Input Languages" dialog box should popup. - Click the Settings tab. - In the "Installed Services" section select "English - United Kingdom"/"Speech Recognition" - click the Remove button. - Click OK to close things as required.

I had the notification in Outlook 2003. Removing the feature from Alternate User Input did indeed work. Thanks
