Configuration error when the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard tries to configure a router on Windows Small Business Server 2003
When you run the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard on a server computer that is running Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003, the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard may not succeed and you may receive the following error message:
An error occurred while configuring your Universal Plug and Play router. Run the wizard again. When the wizard asks you if you want to automatically configure your router, click No. You must then manually configure the router by using the information in Appendix C of the Getting Started guide.
This problem occurs if the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard tries to configure the port settings of a Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) router that does not support automatic changes to the predefined port mappings.
This problem is known to occur on the Linksys Wireless Access Point Router, model number BEFW11S4. In this scenario, the current firmware revision of this router may not permit the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard to automatically configure the port settings.
To resolve this problem, contact Linksys to obtain a possible firmware update for your router.
