When you configure Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2001 to crawl and index the public folder store of a Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server computer, you may experience both of the following symptoms:
- When you search for content in the public folder store, you receive incorrect search results. For example, one or more items may be missing from the search results.
- Error messages that are similar to the following are logged to the gatherer log:
DateTime http://ServerName/Public/PublicFolderName/Message.eml Add Error fetching URL, (80041201 - The object was not found.)
This problem may occur if you search for Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA) items that have one or more Tab, New line, or Carriage return characters in the subject line. The Microsoft OLE DB provider for Internet Publishing (Msdaipp.dll) incorrectly processes the characters in the URL when it converts the characters to Unicode UTF-8 format.
This problem was first fixed in a hotfix that is now contained in a service pack. If you have installed SharePoint Portal Server 2001 Service Pack 3 or a later service pack, you do not have to apply the hotfix.
