FIX: Non-localized version of the sqlsrv32.dll file is installed during the installation of the MS03-033 security update

SYMPTOMS

After you install the MS03-033 security update for Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) on a computer that is running the Japanese version of Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 3, and that has MDAC 2.5 installed, the data source name (DSN) configuration dialog box of the Microsoft SQL Server ODBC driver is displayed in English.

CAUSE

The MS03-003 security update contains only the English version of the sqlsrv32.dll file.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, download the MS04-003 security update. The following file is available for download from the Microsoft Download Center:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was corrected in MS04-003 security update.
