Advanced Client upgrade is not throttled

SYMPTOMS

When you try to upgrade a Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 Advanced Client, the SMS Advanced Client does not throttle the new client download. Users may experience temporary network delays while the client software is copied to the client computer.

MORE INFORMATION

SMS Advanced Clients can use Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) to transfer data such as package source files and inventory data. Because BITS throttles data transfer, bandwidth consumption does not affect the user on the Advanced Client computer.
