"Error 1920.Service RTCLog (RTCLog) Failed to Start" Error Message When You Try to Install the IM Archiving Service

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install the Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2003 IM Archiving Service, you may receive the following error message during Setup:
Error 1920.Service RTCLog (RTCLog) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
You receive this error message even though you have sufficient privileges to start the IM Archiving Service.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you specify a network location as the default Settings and Installation folder during the installation of the IM Archiving Service. Even though you are permitted to specify a network location on the Live Communications IM Archiving Service Options page during Setup, the installation of the IM Archiving Service to a network location is not supported in Live Communications Server 2003.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, install the IM Archiving Service to a hard disk on the local computer.

I am having the same problem as thomas... i've scoured the web and noticed we're not alone. However, we're not any closer to a solution either. I'm currently working with Microsoft to find a solution, but it's not looking too good right now. They're beginning to recommend I try the LCS 2005 trial LOL
