When you use the Active Directory Users and Computers
Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in together with Microsoft Office Live
Communications Server 2003, you may experience the following problems on a
server that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003:
- You cannot activate a user on the Live Communications
tab.
- You cannot move certain users from a Live Communications
Server home server to another Live Communications Server home server.
- You cannot perform any Live Communications Server actions
on users that you find by performing a custom search operation.
Additionally, you cannot use the Live Communications Server MMC
snap-in to move users from one Live Communications Server home server to
another, and you cannot view the properties for those users.
These problems occur when the user display name contains a
forward slash character "". This character is misinterpreted to be a file path
separator by the Live Communications Server service, that prevents the service
from processing the user as expected.

Post hotfix installation instructions
This hotfix includes the AddFindEntries.exe program. You must run this program
separately after you install the hotfix. This program updates the
Active Directory so that you can manage Live Communication Server users
that you find by performing a custom search operation in the Active Directory Users and Computers
MMC snap-in. The hotfix installer extracts the AddFindEntries.exe program and
puts it in the %PROGRAMFILES%\Common Files\Microsoft LC folder. To run this program, your computer must have Microsoft .NET Framework installed. Additionally, you must run the program
on one server per forest. The AddFindEntries.exe program updates the display
identifiers so that a context menu is added to the Active Directory Users and
Computers MMC snap-in. This context menu allows the administration to right-click on a
user or organizational unit and to perform some management functions for Live
Communications Server.
Microsoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
