"Parameter is incorrect" error message when you click Clips Online in Microsoft Office 2002

SYMPTOMS

When you click Clips Online on the Insert Clip Art task pane in one of the Microsoft Office programs that is listed in the "Applies To" section of this article, you may receive the following error message:
Parameter is incorrect
Note To open the Insert Clip Art task pane, point to Picture on the Insert menu, and then click Clip Art.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if your default Web browser is Netscape Navigator.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, do one of the following:
  • Update to the latest version of Netscape Navigator.
  • Set Microsoft Internet Explorer as your default Web browser. To do this, follow these steps.

    Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.
    1. Close your Web browser.
    2. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
    3. Click Network and Internet Connections.
    4. Click Internet Options.
    5. On the Programs tab, click to select the Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser check box, and then click OK.
    6. Start Internet Explorer, and then confirm that you want to make Internet Explorer your default Web browser.
