Search results page throughput may be slower when the number of searches increases
When a search returns more than 10000
results, the
search result throughput of Microsoft Content Management Server (MCMS) with MCMS Connector for SharePoint
Technologies appears slower than the search result throughput in an environment that only uses Microsoft
SharePoint Portal Server.
This problem occurs because the
Searches.GetByUrl method and the
Searches.GetByGUID method in MCMS have response time limitations. These response time limitations affect the throughput of the search result page. Each method carries a response time delay that contributes to overall throughput of a search.
To work around this problem, use the Server Configuration
Application (SCA) to increase the size of the memory node cache on the MCMS
computer.
Microsoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
in the "Applies to" section of this article.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
