Microsoft now distributes hotfixes for Microsoft Data Access Components
(MDAC) 2.7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) as a single update file.
Because these
hotfixes are cumulative, each new release of MDAC contains all the hotfixes and all the
security updates that are included with the previous release of MDAC 2.7 SP1.
You do not have to install a previous update before you install the latest update.
This article contains a list of all the hotfixes that
are available for MDAC 2.7 SP1.
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
To resolve this problem, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the hotfix. For a complete list of Microsoft Product Support Services telephone numbers and information about support costs, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
Note In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support calls may be canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a specific update will resolve your problem. The usual support costs will apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for the specific update in question.
Prerequisites
Before you install this update, you must have MDAC 2.7
SP1 installed.
To determine the version of MDAC that you are
running, view the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DataAccess\FullInstallVer
The
FullInstallVer key that you want to see is
2.71.xxxx.x.
Note After you install this update, you can expect the
FullInstallVer key
to read
2.71.9051.0.
