You receive the "One or more values typed on this page are not valid" error message when you try to create an audience in SharePoint Portal Server 2003
When you try to create an audience by adding a user as a
Member of a group account rule, you may receive the following
error message:
One or more values typed on this page are
not valid. Check the text for the indicated fields.
No account is
found from Active Directory based on your input.
This problem may
occur when you try to add a user (such as
Domain\UserName) and the NetBIOS domain name is different from the first part of
the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN).
This problem was first fixed in a hotfix that is now contained in a service pack. If you installed the latest SharePoint Portal Server 2003 service pack, you do not have to install the hotfix.
Service pack information
This problem is corrected in Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003 Service Pack 2.
