You must install the SQL Server 2000 update that KB article 831950 describes to run BizTalk Server 2004
The Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 Installation Guide indicates that you must have the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 update
that Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article 831950 describes installed on any
computer that has SQL Server 2000 installed and that houses your BizTalk Server
databases.

FIX: You receive error message 3456 when you try to apply a transaction log to a server
Note If you install this update on your computer that is running SQL
Server after you have already installed the BizTalk Server 2004 databases, you
must manually stop and then restart the Enterprise Single Sign-On Service and
any running BizTalk Application Services on your BizTalk Server.
