This article describes the Microsoft Project Server 2002 issues that are fixed in the Microsoft Project Server 2002 hotfix package that is dated April 27, 2004.

Issues that are fixed in the hotfix package

The following issue is fixed in this hotfix package:
  • 838017  (http://kbalertz.com/Feedback.aspx?kbNumber=838017/ ) The plan is not deleted and you receive a “timeout” error message when you try to delete a large plan from your Project Server 2002 database
The following issue is also fixed in this hotfix package, but it was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • When you make a change to a custom Enterprise field of the Project Center in Project Web Access (PWA), other custom Enterprise project fields may also change.

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. This hotfix is a post-Microsoft Project Server 2002 Service Pack 1 (SP1) hotfix. To install the hotfix, you must have Microsoft Project Server 2002 SP1 installed.

Restart information

You may have to restart your computer after you apply this hotfix.

Note When you install the hotfix, all the services that are associated with Microsoft Project Server are stopped and restarted. You may be prompted to restart your computer after you apply the hotfix. Whether you must restart your computer depends on the files that are in use when the you apply the hotfix and on whether the hotfix cannot stop or start the services that are associated with Microsoft Project Server.

This hotfix is not replaced by any later hotfix.

You do not have to create or modify any registry keys to use any hotfixes that are contained in this package.
