Microsoft CRM installation fails with the error “Failed to Install Microsoft CRM Serverâ€
When you install Microsoft CRM 1.2, the installation fails. You receive the following error:
Failed to Install Microsoft CRM Server
Failed to Provision Your Initial Business Unit
Unknown Error 80005000
If Microsoft CRM is installed, the following error can occur when you try to add a user record to Microsoft CRM:
User 1 failed: Application Error (80005000) - SOAP Server Application Faulted
The user record in Active Directory contains a forward slash (/) in the Distinguished Name.
Microsoft CRM has a fix for this problem that is part of a cumulative update. The cumulative update information is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
