The BizTalk Accelerator for HIPAA 2.0 generates a 997 functional acknowledgment receipt that does not include an AK4 segment in BizTalk Server 2002

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Microsoft BizTalk Server Accelerator for HIPAA 2.0 in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2002, you may receive a 997 functional acknowledgment receipt that does not contain an AK4 segment. This behavior occurs even if the value of the AK304 segment is 8.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the AK4 segment of the BizTalk Server Accelerator for HIPAA 2.0 is an optional segment. Because the AK4 segment is optional, the value for the AK304 segment is ignored.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
