You may receive an error message when you configure BizTalk Server 2004 by using the BizTalk Server 2004 Configuration Wizard

SYMPTOMS

When you configure Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 by using the Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 Configuration Wizard, you may receive the following error message:
The Network Path was not found.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the Remote Registry service is not running. The BizTalk Server 2004 Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) provider generates this error if it cannot access the registry to obtain the server name.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, start the Remote Registry service, and then run the BizTalk Server 2004 Configuration Wizard. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Administrative Tools, and then click Services.
  2. In the Services window, right-click Remote Registry, and then click Start.
  3. Close the Services window.
  4. Run the BizTalk Server 2004 Configuration Wizard.
