SYMPTOMS

When you start Microsoft NetMeeting or any third-party conference program that was built through the Microsoft NetMeeting software development kit (SDK), you receive an error message that is similar to the following:
CONF.EXE has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
