You cannot install Office 2003 Service Pack 1 when InfoPath 2003 Service Pack 1 Preview is installed

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1), you receive the following error message:
The expected version of the product was not found on your system.

CAUSE

This issue occurs when you have Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 Service Pack 1 Preview installed.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use the most appropriate method for your computer configuration.

InfoPath 2003 was previously installed as part of the Microsoft Office System 2003 (Office Suite)

To resolve this issue, remove Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 SP1 Preview if Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 was previously installed as part of the Microsoft Office Suite, clear the .NET Download Cache, and then reinstall Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 from Maintenance Mode.

Note After you perform the previous steps, do not reinstall Office 2003 Service Pack 1. You will already have the InfoPath 2003 SP1 Preview updates applied from when you first installed InfoPath 2003 SP1 Preview.

InfoPath 2003 was previously installed as a stand-alone product

To resolve this issue, remove InfoPath 2003 SP1 Preview if InfoPath 2003 was previously installed as a stand-alone product, clear the .NET Download Cache, and then reinstall Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 from your Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 CD-ROM. After you reinstall InfoPath 2003 from your CD-ROM, reinstall Office 2003 Service Pack 1.
