"Windows Firewall has blocked this program from accepting connections from the Internet or network" message appears when you save a file to an FTP Web site in Office

SYMPTOMS

When you try to save a file in a Microsoft Office 2007 or Microsoft Office 2003 program to an FTP server, you receive the following Microsoft Windows Security Alert:
Windows Security Alert

To help protect your computer, the Windows Firewall has blocked some features of this program.

Do you want to keep blocking this program?

Name: program name
Publisher: publisher name

Windows Firewall has blocked this program from accepting connections from the Internet or network. If you recognize the program or trust the publisher, you can unblock it.

CAUSE

This issue occurs after you install Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2).

RESOLUTION

This issue does not prevent you from saving the Office 2003 file to the FTP server. To complete the save to the FTP server, do one of the following actions at the security prompt:
  • Click Keep Blocking. Use this option to prevent the FTP resource from ever accepting connections from your computer without your permission.
  • Click Unblock. Use this option to permit the FTP resource to always accept connections to your computer without your permission.
  • Click Ask Me Later. Use this option if you do not know whether to block or to unblock the FTP resource permanently. This option keeps the resource blocked for greater security. This message appears again the next time that you try to save to the FTP resource.
