Resources receive e-mail notifications about the tasks that
are assigned to them, even though the resources are proposed resources. This
issue occurs when the following conditions are true:
- You create a new project in Microsoft Office Project Server
2003.
- You assign tasks to the proposed resources.
How to obtain the hotfix

Note After you install the hotfix, e-mail notifications are suppressed if the following conditions are true:
- A resource has its booking type set to
Proposed.
- An assignment is published.
However,
if the booking type is later changed from
Proposed to
Committed, and if everything is republished by using the
Publish All command, e-mail notifications are sent to the resource.
To generate an
e-mail notification to the resource, you must select
Republish
Assignments and then verify that the
Notify all affected resources
via e-mail check box is selected.
Microsoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
in the "Applies to" section.
