You receive a warning message in Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA) that you must install Commerce Server 2002 Service Pack 3 after you install Commerce Server 2002 Feature Pack 1

SYMPTOMS

If you install Microsoft Commerce Server 2002 Feature Pack 1 and then you run Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA), you may receive a warning message that indicates that you must install Commerce Server 2002 Service Pack 3 (SP3)

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because MBSA does not detect feature pack baseline installations.

RESOLUTION

If you have installed Commerce Server 2002 Feature Pack 1, you can ignore this warning message. You do not have to install Commerce Server 2002 SP3 if Commerce Server 2002 Feature Pack 1 is already installed. Commerce Server 2002 Feature Pack 1 includes the incremental fixes that are in Commerce Server Service Pack 2 (SP2) and later versions.

APPLIES TO
  • Microsoft Commerce Server 2002 Service Pack 1
  • Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer 1.2
