Agent installation does not finish in Microsoft Operations Manager 2005

SYMPTOMS

After you start a Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2005 agent installation on a computer, the agent installation does not finish. The Task Progress dialog box continues to indicate "Agent management task running" for a long time.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the MOM service is stopped or is restarted before the agent installation is completed.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, click Closein the Task Progress dialog box, and then restart the agent installation. If you must stop and restart the MOM service to complete another task, wait until the agent installation is completed before you stop and restart the MOM service.
