The focus returns to the top of the navigation tree when you click a node to view data for any dynamic view in the Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 Operator console

SYMPTOMS

When you click a node to view data for any dynamic view in the Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2005 Operator console, the focus returns to the top of the navigation tree. For example, you may experience the following behavior:
  1. You click the Performance button on the Navigation pane.
  2. Expand Microsoft Operations Manager in the navigation tree.
  3. Click an item in the Results pane, and then click Select Counters.

The focus in the navigation tree returns to the top of the tree. If you want to view different data from the folder, you must scroll down the tree to find the node again. In this example, the folder is Microsoft Operations Manager.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, click Back on the toolbar. Using the Back button returns the navigation tree to the previous view.

MORE INFORMATION

Dynamic views are views that are not defined in the MOM 2005 database. Performance views are just one example of a dynamic view.
