Alerts are delayed by several minutes when Agent Discovery runs in Microsoft Operations Manager 2005

SYMPTOMS

Alerts are delayed for several minutes when Agent Discovery is run in Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2005.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if one of the following conditions is true:
  • You install the MOM 2005 agents on many computers at the same time.
  • You deploy a management pack that collects much discovery data from many agents at the same time. An example of a management pack that does this is an operating system management pack.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
