How to remove a nonworking server from a BizTalk Server group
You have a Microsoft BizTalk Server group that contains multiple servers. One of these servers is not working, and you want to remove this server from the BizTalk Server group. However, you cannot unconfigure it to remove it from the group.
To remove the server from the BizTalk Server group, follow these steps.
Note You must have SQL Server system administrator rights and BizTalk Server administrator rights to follow these steps.
- Open BizTalk Server Administration. Expand to Host Instances.
- Right-click each host instance that is associated with this computer, and then click Delete for each host instance. Repeat this step until all the host instances that are associated with the computer are deleted.Â
Note On BizTalk Server 2004, you can expand Servers to see a list of host instances that are associated with the nonworking computer in the details pane.
You may receive the following error message when you try to delete a host instance that is in process: Failed while deleting the Windows NT service BTSSvc{67736433-F0CD-455D-92B2-67D1ED998D79}
You may receive the following error message when you try to delete a host instance that is isolated:Â The network path was not found.
If you receive one of these error messages, click OK. After you click OK, you may receive the following error message: You can forcefully delete this host instance. This may leave orphan orchestrations and prevent cleanup of COM+ applications and NT services on machine 'computer name'. Do you want to proceed with forceful host instance deletion?
If you receive this error message, click Yes. - Click Start, click Run, type wbemtest.exe, and then click OK.
- In the Windows Management Instrumentation Tester dialog box, click Connect.
- In the Namespace box, type root\microsoftbiztalkserver.
- Click Connect, and then click Enum Instances.
- In the Class Info dialog box, type MSBTS_ServerSetting under Enter superclass name. Select Immediate only, and then click OK.
- In the Query Result dialog box, click the computer that is not working, and then click Delete.
Note You cannot delete the server instance if the server is associated with any host instances. - Click Close and then click Exit to close Windows Management Instrumentation Tester.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
