BUG: Text in the print Header or in the print Footer on an InfoPath 2003 Service Pack 1 form is not deleted
When you delete text in the print Header or in the print Footer on a Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 Service Pack 1 form, the text still appears in Print Preview. Also, all the text in the print Header or in the print Footer still prints.
Although you cannot successfully delete the text in the print Header or in the print Footer, you can successfully modify the text in the print Header or in the print Footer.
To work around this problem, replace the text in the print Header or in the print Footer with a space. To do this, follow these steps:
- On the View menu, click Header and Footer.
- In the View Properties dialog box, click Header under Headers and Footers.
- In the Header Format dialog box, select all the text in the Print form with this header box, and then press SPACEBAR.
- Click OK two times.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
Steps to reproduce the problem
- Start InfoPath 2003 Service Pack 1.
- On the File menu, click Design a Form.
- In the Design a Form pane, click New Blank Form.
- On the View menu, click Headers and Footers.
- In the View Properties dialog box, click Header.
- In the Header Format dialog box, type aaa in the Print form with this header box.
- Click OK two times.
- Repeat step 4 and step 5.
- Press CTRL+A to select all the text in the Print form with this header box, and then press DELETE.
- Click OK two times.
- On the File menu, click Print Preview.
Notice that the text still appears in the print Header.
