Microsoft Business Solutions CRM contact records are not created as Microsoft Outlook Contacts

SYMPTOMS

When one or more of the following are true, Microsoft® CRM contact records are not created as Microsoft Outlook® contacts:
  • A custom field is added to the contact schema in the Microsoft CRM server.
  • A person who is using the Microsoft CRM Sales for Outlook (the Outlook client) goes offline and chooses to synchronize all business unit information with the Microsoft CRM server.
Additionally, all contact records are still viewable in the Active Contacts view. Subsequent attempts to go offline will synchronize additional contact records. However, the contact records that should have been synchronized the first time remain unsynchronized.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft Business Solutions CRM has a fix for this problem. The fix is part of a cumulative update. For information about the cumulative update, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
833622  (http://kbalertz.com/Feedback.aspx?kbNumber=833622/ ) Microsoft Business Solutions CRM Update

MORE INFORMATION

Outlook contacts that are not created during synchronization can also include the contacts that are created by other Microsoft CRM users by using the Outlook client or by using the Web application. This update prevents this problem from occurring or from recurring. However, this update does not synchronize contacts that were not synchronized before installing the update.

APPLIES TO
