The MSP_PDS_CacheFullName stored procedure times out after 30 seconds if you use the procedure to query a custom ASPX Web page or a SQL query in Microsoft Office Project Server 2003
If a custom ASPX Web page or a SQL query uses the
MSP_PDS_CacheFullName stored procedure in Microsoft Project Web Access, the
MSP_PDS_CacheFullName stored procedure times outs after 30 seconds when you
run this procedure. This problem occurs when Project Web Access is running on
Microsoft Office Project Server 2003.
How to obtain the hotfix
This issue is fixed in the Microsoft Office Project Server
2003 Hotfix Package released on November 17,
2004. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Description of the Microsoft Project Server 2003 post Service Pack 1
hotfix package: November 27, 2004
After you install the hotfix, you must run the
Connection Information (the ConnInfo.exe file) tool to configure the Project Database
Server time-out interval (PDS Timeout). The default value for PDS Timeout is 30
seconds. To do this, follow these steps:
- Run the Connection Information tool.
The
ConnInfo.exe file is located in the \BIN\1033 folder of your Project Server
2003 installation.
To download the Connection Information tool, visit the
following Microsoft Web site: Note If you download and install the Connection Information tool on
the server from the Microsoft Web site, you can find the ConnInfo.exe file in
the following folder: Drive_letter:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Project
Server 2003 Resource Kit\Toolbox\ConnInfo Utility
- In the SQL Server box,
type ;PDS Timeout = #seconds; at
the end of the existing string.
Note The placeholder #seconds is the number
of seconds that pass before the MSP_PDS_CacheFullName stored procedure times out.
- Click Save, and then click
Exit.
Note If you use the ConnInfo.exe file in the
future, the PDS Timeout string will not be present. If you click
Save without re-adding the PDS Timeout string, the default
Project Database Server time-out value of 30 seconds will be restored.
Microsoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
in the "Applies to" section.
