In Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004, when you use the Microsoft BizTalk Adapter 2.0 for mySAP Business Suite to send an Intermediate Document (IDOC) to a SAP system, the double-byte character set (DBCS) characters in the IDOC become corrupted.
DBCS characters include Chinese characters and Japanese characters.
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article. If this section does not appear, submit a request to Microsoft Customer Service and Support to obtain the hotfix.

For this hotfix to work, install the SAP .NET Connector for visual studio .NET 2003 version 1.0.3 installed. Then you must run BizTalkSAPConfig.exe with the
/i option. To run BizTalkSAPConfig.exe, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run, cmd, and then click OK.
- At the command prompt, change the current folder to the adapter installation folder.
- Type BizTalkSAPConfig /i, and then press ENTER.
- Type exit, and then press ENTER to close the command prompt.
Note The adapter installation folder is typically located in the
<install location>\Microsoft BizTalk Adapter v2.0 for MySAP Business Suite folder.
