When you save a project to Microsoft Office Project Server 2003, you may receive a Project Data Service (PDS) error 9446.
How to obtain the hotfix
This issue is fixed in the Microsoft Office Project Server 2003 post-Service Pack 1 Hotfix Package that is dated October 21, 2004. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Description of the Microsoft Office Project Server 2003 post-Service Pack 1 hotfix package: October 21, 2004
After you install this hotfix, follow the steps that are listed in the "More Information" section to enable the hotfix.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
To enable this hotfix on your Project Server 2003 server, follow these steps.
Important note Enable this hotfix only on a SQL Server with case-insensitive collation.
- Locate the folder that contains the Project Server 2003 Connection Information tool, and then double-click ConnInfo.exe.
The ConnInfo.exe tool is located in the Drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Project Server 20031\Bin\1033 folder of the computer that is running Project Server 2003.
To download the ConnInfo.exe tool, visit the following Microsoft Web site: - In the SQL Server text box, and at the end of the existing value in the text box, type ;SqlCaseInsensitive=true;.
- Click Save.
- Click OK when you receive the following error message:
Your connection information has been successfully saved.
- Click Exit.
To disable this hotfix on your Project Server 2003 server, follow these steps:
- Locate the folder that contains the Project Server 2003 Connection Information tool, and then double-click ConnInfo.exe.
- Do not make any changes in the Project Server 2003 Connection Information tool.
Note The ;SqlCaseInsensitive=true; parameter is removed from the SQL Server text box when you rerun the Project Server 2003 Connection Information tool. - Click Save.
- Click OK when you receive the following error message:
Your connection information has been successfully saved.
- Click Exit.
