SYMPTOMS

When you do a catalog search in Microsoft Commerce Server 2002 and then you change the sort order to descending order for multiple columns, the search does not display the results in descending order for all the columns.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

Prerequisites

You must have Microsoft Commerce Server 2002 Service Pack 3 installed on your computer.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart your computer after you install this hotfix.

Hotfix replacement information

This hotfix only replaces the Catalogcreate.sql file.

File information

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

Note After you download this hotfix, you must update the existing Commerce Server catalog. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Run Microsoft SQL Query Analyzer.
  2. Connect to the Commerce Server database.
  3. In SQL Query Analyzer, open and then run the Catalogcreate.sql file that is included in this hotfix.

    Note The Catalogcreate.sql file is located in the Drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Commerce Server 2002 folder.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
