Microsoft has released the Office XP post-Service Pack 3 hotfix package for Microsoft Office XP. This article describes the following items about the hotfix package:

This article describes the Microsoft Office XP issue that is fixed in the Office XP post-Service Pack 3 hotfix package that is dated December 7, 2004.
Issues that the hotfix package fixes
This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
- When you programmatically create a child window in a Microsoft Office XP program and then call the SetForegroundWindow API after you use the AllowSetForeground() function, the child window may not appear in the foreground.
This issue may occur if you use the Input Method Editor (IME) 2002, and then click the Language bar icon in the notification area to change the input language in the Office XP program.
Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

- This hotfix is a post-Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) hotfix. To install the hotfix, you must have Office XP SP3 installed.
