Slides stop printing and the computer crashes in PowerPoint for Mac
When you print a Microsoft PowerPoint 2004 for Mac presentation, slides start to print successfully, but then they stop printing and the computer crashes.
The presentation does not exhibit any other problems, and it can be modified or presented in a slide show without any other errors.
This issue occurs when the slide where the presentation stopped printing contains minor damage.
To work around this problem, you must close the presentation and then insert it into a new one.
To do this, follow these steps.
For presentations based on PowerPoint templates
- On the File menu, click Project Gallery.
- Expand Presentations, and then click Designs.
- Click the design that you used for the affected presentation, click Open, and then go to step 2.
For presentations based on the blank presentation layout
- On the File menu, click New.
- If the New Slide dialog box appears, click OK, and then go to step 2.
Note Your selection from the New Slide dialog box is not important. After you re-create the presentation, you can delete this slide.
- On the Insert menu, click Slides From File.
- In the Choose a File dialog box, locate the presentation, and then click Insert.
Note All slides will be inserted except for the master slides. - Save the presentation.
You will now be able to print this presentation without error.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
