No Six Sigma financial data is available to add to the Project Analyzer views in Project Server 2003

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. Microsoft Office Solution Accelerator for Six Sigma is installed on the server and is configured for use with Microsoft Office Project Server 2003. You log on to Microsoft Office Project Web Access 2003. When you connect to the Portfolio Analyzer page, no Six Sigma financial data is available to add to the Project Analyzer views.

CAUSE

This issue occurs if the OLAP cube for the Financials feature of Solution Accelerator for Six Sigma was not built when the MSP_PORTFOLIO_ANALYZER virtual cube for Project Server 2003 was built. Therefore, the MSP_PORTFOLIO_ANALYZER virtual cube does not include the OLAP cube or the dimensions for the Financials feature. This issue occurs if the Microsoft Office 2003 primary interop assemblies (PIAs) are not installed on the server. The Mspolapbreakout.dll file that is used to generate the OLAP cube for the Financials feature is a Microsoft .NET assembly that requires the Office 2003 PIAs to be installed on the server.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install Office 2003 or an Office 2003 program such as Microsoft Office Project Professional 2003 on the server. By doing this, the Office 2003 PIAs are installed on the server.

WORKAROUND

If you do not want to install Office 2003 or an Office 2003 program on the server, build an installation program for the Office 2003 PIAs. You can build an installation program for the Office 2003 PIAs by using Microsoft Visual Studio.
