When you use the XML format to update a profile in Microsoft Commerce Server 2002, the update operation may fail. When this problem occurs, you may receive an error message that is similar to the following:

This problem occurs when any one of the following conditions is true:
- The profile is stored as an ntext data type.
- The profile exceeds 4,000 characters.
