The custom paper size may change to a smaller size when you use certain printers in Publisher
In a Microsoft Publisher publication that contains a custom page size, when you open the
Custom Paper Size dialog box, the paper width and paper height settings may change to a smaller size than what had previously been set for the custom paper size.
This problem may occur when the following conditions are true:
- You use metric units to specify the custom page size. That is, you use millimeters (mm) to specify the custom page size.
- You use one of the following printers in Publisher:
- Canon i850
- Canon i950
- Epson PM-4000PX
There is currently no workaround or resolution to correct this problem.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
To specify a custom page size in Publisher 2003, follow these steps.
Note These steps may be different depending on your specific printer driver and on your version of Publisher.
- On the File menu, click Page Setup.
- In the Page Setup dialog box, click the Printer and Paper tab.
- Under Printer, click Properties.
- On the Page Setup tab, click Custom in the Page Size list.
- In the Custom Paper Size dialog box, specify the size of your custom page, and then click OK.
- Click OK to close the printer Properties dialog box.
- Click OK to close the Page Setup dialog box.
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Office Publisher 2003
- Microsoft Publisher 2002 Standard Edition
- Microsoft Publisher 2000 Standard Edition

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
