Some of the effects and settings that you expect to see in a PowerPoint custom animation are missing or are not available
When you try to create a custom animation in Microsoft PowerPoint, some of the effects and settings that you expect to see are not available or are missing.
Additionally, you may notice one or more of the following symptoms:
- The Custom Animation task pane does not open.
- The Custom Animation task pane is not available when you try to change to a different task pane.
This issue may occur if the
New animation effects check box is selected.
To resolve this issue, click to remove the
New animation effects check box.
To do this, follow these steps:
- On the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Edit tab.
- Under Disable new features, click to remove the New animation effects check box.
- Click OK to close the Options dialog box.

Help menu, type
custom animation in the
Search for box in the Assistance pane, and then click
Start searching to view the topic.
