When you delete a mailbox from a server that is running Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 or Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, the mailbox still appears in Antigen for Microsoft Exchange.
This issue occurs because Exchange Server 2003 and Exchange 2000 Server retain mailbox information for users who are no longer mail-enabled. Therefore, the mailbox still appears in Antigen.
To resolve this issue, remove the deleted mailbox from Exchange Server 2003 or from Exchange 2000 Server:
- Start Exchange System Manager.
- In the left pane, click Administrative Groups, and then click the administrative group that contains the deleted mailbox.
- Click Servers, and then click the server that contains the deleted mailbox.
- Click the storage group that contains the deleted mailbox, and then click Mailbox Store.
- Click Mailboxes.
The deleted mailbox appears in the right pane. This mailbox is marked with a red “Xâ€. - Right-click the deleted mailbox that you want to remove, point to All tasks, and then click Purge.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
