You receive an "Error executing the query" error message when you perform a search in SharePoint Portal Server 2003
When you perform a search for words that you know that exist on the portal In Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003, you may experience one of the following symptoms:
This issue occurs if the
Use Windows NT fibers check box is selected in the
SQL server properties dialog box in SQL Server Enterprise Manager.
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
- Start SQL Server Enterprise Manager.
- Expand SQL_Server_Group, right-click Your_Server_Name, and then click Properties.
- Click the Processor tab.
- Under Processor control, click to clear the Use Windows NT
fibers check box, and then click OK.
- Quit SQL Server Enterprise Manager.
- Start SQL Server Service Manager.
- In the Server box, click the instance of Microsoft SQL Server that you want to restart. If you are running only one instance of SQL Server on the computer, only one name will be listed.
- Click Stop, and then click Yes.
- Click Start/Continue.
Note You may have to wait for the Start/Continue button to become available. - Quit SQL Server Service Manager.
Note Instead of performing steps 6 to 10, you can stop and restart the instance of SQL Server by using SQL Server Enterprise Manager.
