Item labels in the SQL Server Integration Services toolbox window may appear in an incorrect language

SYMPTOMS

Item labels in the Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) toolbox window may appear in an incorrect language in Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio after you install a Windows Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI). This issue also occurs when you change the language setting in SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio.

For more information about how to change the language setting in SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio, visit the following Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) Web site:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms246590.aspx (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms246590.aspx)

CAUSE

This issue occurs when you install more than one Windows MUI for SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, delete the files that store the toolbox state information. To do this, close all instances of Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and of SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio, and then follow those steps:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
  2. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
    cd %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\VisualStudio\8.0
  3. Type the following command to delete the files, and then press ENTER:
    del /ah toolbox*.*
  4. Start SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio again.

STATUS

APPLIES TO
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition
