Error message when you try to receive customized error messages in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM laptop client for Microsoft Office Outlook: "Exception of type System.Web.HttpUnhandledException was thrown"

The hotfix that is discussed in this article is not available for the Chinese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM or for the Japanese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • In the Callout.config.xml file, you create customized error messages for some special errors.
  • One or more of these special errors occur in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM laptop client for Microsoft Office Outlook.
In this scenario, you cannot receive these customized error messages. Instead, you receive the following error message:
Exception of type System.Web.HttpUnhandledException was thrown.

RESOLUTION

This problem is fixed in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Update Rollup 1. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
