The values for actual work and remaining work in Project Server 2003 do not match the values for actual work and remaining work in Project Professional 2003
When you use Microsoft Project Web Access to view a task in Microsoft Office Project Server 2003, the values for actual work and remaining work in Project Server 2003 do not match the values for actual work and remaining work in Microsoft Office Project Professional 2003.
This issue may occur in different scenarios. For example, this issue occurs if you update the task in Project Web Access and then click
Cancel when you receive the following message:
Updates on this project have been completed. You should save the project to have the changes committed. Do you wish to save now?
Note This issue does not occur if you click
OK when you receive this message.
To work around this issue, you must republish work assignments and overwrite the work that was entered by resources. To do this, follow these steps:
- Start Project Professional 2003.
- Open the project plan that has the inconsistent Actual Work and Remaining Work values.
- On the Collaborate menu, point to Publish, and then click Republish Assignments.
- Click to select the Overwrite actual work entered by Resources check box, and then click OK.
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Office Project Server 2003
- Microsoft Office Project Professional 2003
Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
