How to move the MOM 2005 OnePoint database to a new location
This article contains a link to a Microsoft TechNet article that explains how to move the Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2005 OnePoint database to a new location.
It is not a standard maintenance procedure to move the OnePoint database without reinstalling the management servers and without reestablishing MOM console permissions. However, there are several reasons that you might have to perform this operation. These include the following:
- To relocate a database to a clustered computer that is running Microsoft SQL Server
- To meet volume size restrictions
- To make performance improvements, such as to separate the database from the logs
- To relocate a database to a fault-tolerant volume
We recommend that you move the OnePoint database only for one of these reasons.
For more information about how to move the OnePoint database from one server that is running SQL Server to another server that is running SQL Server, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
