Error message when you try to install Streets & Trips or Age of Empires III: "1327 Invalid Drive"

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install one of the programs that are listed in the "Applies To" section, you receive the following error message:
Error 1327, Invalid Drive: drive :\

Installation ended prematurely because of an error.
Note In this error message, drive is not the drive letter of any one of your drives.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft Windows XP and earlier versions

  1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Manage.
  2. Under Storage, click Disk Management.
  3. Note the current letter of the CD drive. Right-click the CD drive, and then click Change Letter and Paths.
  4. Click Change, and then change the drive to the drive letter that appears in the error message.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Yes for the confirmation.
  7. Close Disk Management, and then install Streets & Trips.
  8. After you install the program, repeat steps 1 through 6 to change the CD drive back to its original drive letter.

Windows Vista

  1. Click Start

    Start button
    , type Help in the Start Search box, and then click Help and Support in the Programs list.
  2. In the Search Help box, type Change, add, or remove a drive letter, and then click the Search Help icon.
  3. In the list, click Change, add, or remove a drive letter.
  4. Follow the instructions to change the drive to the drive letter that appears in the error message.
