You cannot send an e-mail message from another user account when you use the "Send Direct E-mail" functionality in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0
The hotfix that is discussed in this article is not available for the Chinese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM or for the Japanese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0:
- You have the "Send E-mail as Another User" permission.
- You use the "Send Direct E-mail" functionality to send an e-mail message to an account, to a contact, or to a lead.
- You select another user account from which to send the e-mail message. To do this, you click User or Queue to open the Look Up Records dialog box.
In this scenario, you find that no account other than your account appears in the
Look Up Records dialog box. Therefore, you cannot send an e-mail message from another user account.
This problem occurs only when you use the "Send Direct E-mail" functionality. You can still send an e-mail message from another user account if you double-click to open the account, the contact, or the lead form, you click
Send E-mail, and then you click the
From field.
This problem is fixed in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Update Rollup 2.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
