The Antigen 9.0 users guides incorrectly state that you can use the ActiveX client program to remotely administer Antigen 9.0
This article describes a documentation error that is present in the "ActiveX Client" section of the following two documents:
- Microsoft Antigen 9.0 for SMTP Gateways User's Guide
- Microsoft Antigen 9.0 for Exchange User's Guide
When you view these documents, the following information is displayed in the "ActiveX Client" section:
The ActiveX client provides an alternate method of administering Antigen. By using a Web Browser to access Antigen, administrators can monitor and configure Antigen servers without installing the Antigen Win32 client on each workstation. The ActiveX client also provides another method of remote administration for your Antigen Servers.
This information is incorrect. The ActiveX client is incompatible with Microsoft Antigen 9.0 for SMTP Gateways and with Microsoft Antigen 9.0 for Exchange.
To remotely administer Microsoft Antigen 9.0, use one of the following methods:
- Use the Microsoft Windows Remote Desktop Connection feature.
- Use the Antigen Win32 client program.
- Use the Antigen Enterprise Manager.
To view the online documentation for Microsoft Antigen 9.0, visit the following Microsoft Web sites:

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
