Clients do not receive the advertisement when you advertise a package in Systems Management Server 2003
When you advertise a package in Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003 (SMS), some SMS clients do not receive the advertisement.
Additionally, when you view the Systems Management item in Control Panel on the SMS client computer, only the following features are available:
- User policy retrieval
- Machine
policy retrieval
Additionally, the Locationservices.log file contains an error message that resembles the following error message:
Failed to refresh trusted key information while refreshing mp list.
Failed to verify received message 0x80090006
Failed to verify received message 0x8009100e
Additionally, the Certificatemaintenance.log file contains the following error message:
Failed to verify signature for assigned MP
This problem occurs when the management point certificate is corrupted.
To resolve this problem, you must delete the management point certificate by using the CCMDelCert.exe utility. To do this, follow these steps.
Note The CCMDelCert.exe utility is part of Systems Management Server 2003 Toolkit 2. To obtain this toolkit, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
- Log on to the SMS management point computer by using an account that has administrative permissions.
- Click Start, click Run, type services.msc in the Open box, and then click OK.
- In the Services MMC snap-in, right-click SMS_EXECUTIVE, and then click Stop.
- In the Services MMC snap-in, right-click SMS_SITE_COMPONENT_MANAGER, and then click Stop.
- Click Start, click Run, type ccmdelcert in the Open box, and then click OK.
You receive the following message: Successfully deleted cert.
- In the Services MMC snap-in, right-click SMS_EXECUTIVE, and then click Start.
- In the Services MMC snap-in, right-click SMS_SITE_COMPONENT_MANAGER, and then click Start.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
