Error message when you run the IIS 6.0 Migration Tool on the destination computer: "Access is denied"
You use the Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0 Migration Tool (Iismt.exe) to migrate a Web application from a source computer that is running IIS to a destination computer that is running IIS 6.0. When you run the IIS 6.0 Migration Tool on the destination computer, you receive the following error message:
This issue may occur if you specify the incorrect credentials in the
/user UserName command-line option and in the
/password Password command-line option.
When you specify the
/user UserName command-line option and the
/password Password command-line option for the IIS 6.0 Migration Tool, use the credentials of the local administrator on the source computer.
The IIS 6.0 Migration Tool is a command-line tool that automates several of the steps that are needed to migrate a Web application from an existing installation of IIS 4.0, of IIS 5.0, or of IIS 6.0 to a clean installation of IIS 6.0. The tool transfers the Web site content, the configuration data, and the application settings to a new server that is running IIS 6.0.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
